Is there any reason why I’m saying this… Uh huh, yes there is!  I’m a Lesbian, 49 years of age, and have been dealing with this issue for over 31 years.  I’m old enough to know better, and not a person to have to deal with discrimination.

Did I choose my sexual orientation?  No, I did not.  As natural as it is to be straight, it’s natural for me to be a Lesbian.  I won’t go into specifics, as I’ve worked out all the “whatIfs” that the conservative right thinks they know.

One thing I will say is…  I was always this way, tried to court men, and guess what??  It wasn’t for me.  It just is what it is, I’m attracted to women. Much like a straight male is attracted to a straight female.

My family life was good (parents & siblings).  I had two caring parents, who are still together for almost 50 years!  Not a norm in this day and age.  Both are Born Again Christians, as are my siblings.  To be quite honest, I would also be a born again christian, if the religious right was not so hateful.  What a shame!

Iv’e seen the Props from California (Propisition 8), and I’m unsure what all the hub bub is all about.

There’s straight and there is gay.  Who cares!  The marriage thing…  Well, if there is the conservative right that wants to keep the marriage thing between a man and a woman, fine!  We can call it something else like “Civil Union”, as long as the union provides the same rights (federally) as a married straight couple.

There are soooo many gay couples out there that have loving families.  I’m not talking about their immediate families, I’m talking about those that adopt children.  And… Even if the couple doesn’t adopt, as many straight couples do not adopt… LGBT couples should have the same rights.   What’s the difference??

If the conservative right wants to dismiss  LGBT couples, then they should also dismiss straight couples that either don’t want children or can’t have children.  Should those marriages be annulled because they can not or don’t want to reproduce?  You tell me…  It is what it is!

If you would like to comment… I would be more than happy to answer.  However, I will not answer to those that have a totally negative, hateful, religious reason for Gay Marriages.  It’s truly not worth my time, and or understanding of a political/religious concept.  I’ve heard it all and it really doesn’t rock my world, nor do I care.
